Research In Motion’s Lack Of Momentum

Much has been written about Research In Motion (RIM) makers of the Blackberry smartphone platform and their loss of share in the smartphone market.

At the beginning of this millenium the company was THE high-tech gadget maker. The Blackberry was the coolest tool to carry.

Unfortunately for RIM the technology sector is fast-paced and apparently is not so nimble. Apple and Google have scooped up virtually all share of the sector.

Now the US Government is one of the largest markets for the Blackberry.

Yesterday, in the Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport, this was the scene at the Blackberry store. The ghost town shop was inhabited only by a single employee texting. I wonder if she was using an iPhone 4S?
