Googling Is Still The Way To Search

The other day I heard someone say “I do all my searches on Twitter. I don’t use Google anymore.”

So I tried it. I also compared Twitter Search to Google and Bing. Ooof! Twitter Search has a long way to go. So I’ve taken Twitter Search off my radar for now.

In the process what I did discover was Google’s updates to Google Social Search. Google prides itself on the relevance of its search results. But, according to the Company’s blog, “relevance isn’t just about pages—it’s also about relationships.” Searches will return more information from the people that matter to you, whether they’re publishing on YouTube, Flickr or their own blog or website.

Social Search will undoubtedly have implications for brands and their connection strategies. It’s likely social is the newest component to search engine optimization.
