Mae West is credited with saying, “An ounce of performance is worth pounds of promises.”

In today’s democratized world of communication – blogs, tweets, posts, vimeos, videos, webinars, etc. etc. we are being overwhelmed by promises.

But who is keeping track of how many promises are being delivered? I suspect no one.

2011 presents an opportunity for retailers and marketers to use every channel to connect with their target audience. Blur the distinction between offline and online turning it into interaction rather than intersection.

For 2011 I will attempt to circle back once a month on my predictions, observations and comments. The purpose? Performance check. Did I do what I said I would do? Did the trend play out as I predicted. Did the “newest social media tactic” ever pan out?

That’s my commitment.
