Randy Moss – It’s All Or Nothing

As you read this Randy Moss is en route to the Minnesota Vikings training facility/HQ in Eden Prairie, MN (a suburb of Minneapolis).

Anybody got a "do-rag"?

If you recall Moss was drafted by the Vikings in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft. Coming from Marshall University, with baggage causing many teams to pass on him, the speedster caught defenses flat-footed nearly his entire first season. Seven years, a few arrests, multiple tirades, and unsportsmanlike conduct fines later Moss ended up at Oakland then New England – before coming back to Minnesota.

Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has to be happy today that he finally has Randy Moss as a teammate. Moss had great success against Favre’s Packers in past seasons.

An unnamed Viking is quoted as saying, “I think it’s all or nothing. It’s either the missing piece and we go all the way, or Moss takes on Chilly (Coach Brad Childress) and this thing blows up by the end of October. There’s no C grade on this one. It’ll either be an A or an F.”

That analogy is right on. But it’s likely there’ll be A’s and F’s.

There will be A moments – which is why I think Moss is a marketing maven. His perceived value exceeds reality…which is the art of marketing. But the deliverable for the entire Vikings will be an big-time F.

Ur right – all or nothing this year. Next year the entire team is eligible for Social Security. Bye bye Chilly.

Defenses are going to have to choose between shutting down Peterson and Randy Moss. This has made the Vikings a much more difficult team to beat.
